Project: Occupation of Quinton Business Park Birmingham
As part of a consolidation
of offices in Edgbaston and the Black Country, Business Link West Midlands
(BLWM) chose the impressive Quinton Business Park to facilitate their new
regional centre in the West Midlands.
To ensure value for money as a Government body, it was essential for BLWM to examine, through a stringent tender process, the best local business to support the relocation.
BCL was the ideal candidates, utilising our professional and extensive range of services to their capacity, to ensure a seamless transfer between premises was achieved.
Working closely with McCarthy and Associates, BCL was required to provide extensive support services during the two phase move, transferring in excess of 250 personnel, complete with all their furniture, IT equipment and filing. Our service range included:
- Total desktop decommissioning and user auditing
- Cable management tray installation and ‘cable-tidy’
- Re-commissioning of desktop IT to log-on prompt
- Full sequential file packing and unpacking to create “crate clear” scene on Monday
- Furniture fitting team to dismantle and assemble system desks
- Total site managed solution
Every element of the move was carefully planned and scheduled using BCL’s move tracking tool, to ensure that if any slippage occurred in the program, corrective action could be taken immediately.
As a result of the highly skilled management and operations team in place no such contingency plan was required, with each milestone completed on target, much to the clients delight as the office space took shape in a controlled fashion.
Despite the clients concerns on the ‘achievability’ of the aggressive program, both of the two weekend phases were completed ahead of schedule by early afternoon on Sunday, to allow time for reflection and for our movers to get back for Mother’s Day duties!
