When approaching removal firms for tender it is advisable to look beyond price. In the case of commercial moves the cheapest option is not necessarily the best. Visit their facilities, meet some of their staff, find out how long they have been trading and look for that all important CMG membership.
Once you have selected a commercial mover ensure a representative accompanies you on a tour of your current and proposed premises. At this stage it is important that the same person conducts the tour ensuring consistency of measurements and the beginning of a positive working relationship. Once the removals firm has been assigned and the date for the move finalised it is advisable to inform your communications provider and IT department roughly 6- 8 weeks in advance in order that they have adequate time to transfer your systems, thus minimising the chance of extended downtimes.
